I commissioned Dennis to design & Build an alcove seat, a fireplace mantle to surround granite and above it, a built-in hideaway for a TV that has a picture frame facing it.
Dennis worked wonders in blending stains to the color I desired and was able to make it all match on four different types of woods in the same room.
Dennis is extremely meticulous in all of his work and he ensures that his work is done to the complete satisfaction of clients as well as to himself. He prides himself in perfection and his work reflects his wonderful artistic abilities.

Dennis Peterson was a primary builder of our home at 14818 Banner Quaker Hill Road in Nevada City, CA in 1993. Dennis was involved in the entire building of the home, beginning with the framing and ending with the beautiful finished wood windows and wainscoting in the master bedroom.
The attention to detail and finish work in the wainscoting is the highlight of our home interior. Throughout the years, numerous family members and visitors to our home have admired the home and frequently asked about Dennis Peterson’s finish work.
He also completed some remodel work on our kitchen in 2005 that was without equal. I have seen some of his other work in Nevada County and can tell you that it is exemplary.

Dennis recreated a Victorian facade for our house from a photograph in a historical reference book. This required creating custom ground cutters to recreate molding profiles, carving a fleur-de-lis, and many other steps. He did the entire job from start to finish, including painting the intricate 5 color paint scheme. It looks sensational.
Over the years he has replicated many moldings, cabinets, railings, etc. from historic photos. His attention to detail and scope of the job was impeccable. I don’t think I can say enough about Dennis and what you can create working with him.

We contracted with H Dennis Peterson in 2005 to complete a remodel in our home. The project began on time, Dennis was on the job every day on time, all work was completed within the agreed upon time frame, and all completed work exceeded our expectations for quality. His expertise in finish work, including milling and installing custom trim, gave our remodel a look that is unique and obviously the work of a craftsman. All doors and windows hang straight and true and operate flawlessly. Dennis uses a combination of glue, screws and wood dowels to make sure that the seams of the outside trim are tight and that they stay that way.
During the course of the project, Dennis addressed all of the unknowns and surprises typical of a remodel with the expertise and great efficiency. He also provided recommendations to improve the quality and livability of our remodel as the project progressed.
A customer’s true satisfaction is ultimately demonstrated if and when the customer returns for additional services. Our experience working with Dennis on a second phase of remodeling proved to be just as rewarding as the first.
